About

The Vassar Food Cooperative is a Slow Food campaign that runs a campus wide Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program to provide environmentally sustainable and healthy alternatives to current food options at Vassar.   Through the CSA, the co-op works to build community between Vassar and the Hudson Valley by engaging with and financially supporting farms in the region.  Vassar Food Cooperative has developed personal relationships with the many local farms in the area including J. Glebocki farm, Sprout Creek Farm, DuBois Farm, and Meadowview Farm.

In the long run, the Vassar Food Cooperative aims to expand its CSA to include the majority of the senior class and professors living on campus, as well as all Vassar employees.  We also strive to include more farms each year in our projects and increase our connections with the greater Poughkeepsie community.
